My intent is to explore the spirit of life, both its diverse forms of vitality as well as its extreme fragility. The images that appear in my work refer to the common and the exalted, the whimsical and the serious, the cycle of growth and dissolution. It is the balancing and interweaving of these often contrasting or opposing states that interests and challenges me.

Formally speaking, my work is intuitively derived from forms in nature, and color and texture are used to convey the feeling and essence of their story.
